The artworks explore the intersection of human fragility and endurance through the repeated process of using my red fingerprint for two months that emphasize the vulnerability of the human form. The choice of red ink symbolizes life, blood, and the essence of existence, while the fingerprint technique draws attention to the unique individuality of each person, leaving a lasting mark on the canvas and on the world.
The contorted figures in this piece reflect a deep connection between physicality and emotional states. They are not only representations of the body, but metaphors for the internal battles we all face. The tension in the muscles and folds of the skin suggest struggle, while the soft, organic lines offer a sense of resilience, a reminder of the delicate balance between survival and surrender. In creating this work, I sought to convey the ways in which we are all bound by an invisible thread—our lifeline—that both holds us together and makes us vulnerable. The figures, despite their tension, embody a quiet strength, an expression of the will to continue, to hold on, despite the weight of existence.
